Staycation Ideas in London

Craving a break from your routine and some summer fun? Rather than having a supreme spending spree on flights and hotels – why not plan something closer to home? Staycations are fun, cost-effective and you’ll be able to have all the fun of going on holiday, without actually going on holiday!

I recently teamed up with eBay and Time Out to find 3 cool staycation locations. I also chose my top shopping essentials off eBay.

Here’s a guide to 3 fun ways to enjoy your summer holiday in London…

1) Play – Discover urban beaches
We started the day at Beach East at Stratford’s Olympic Park. Did you know that it’s the UK’s largest urban beach? There are bars, pools, deckchairs and rides but my top pick for staycation fun on an urban beach – playing a game of boules!

2) Feast  - Eat Your Way Around the World
When you travel abroad – is eating your favourite thing to do? From tacos, to rotisserie chicken and Taiwanese pork buns, there’s so much to eat at Dinerama in Shoreditch. Don’t forget to take plenty of snaps to give your friends food envy…

3) Get Active – Cycle down Regent’s Canal
Grab the cycling helmet and slip on your comfiest espadrilles! Why daydream about cycling alongside the canals of Amsterdam when you can have much more fun near Regent’s Canal instead? It’s one of London’s best kept secrets and a perfect place to stroll or cycle in the summer time.
